Nantucket and Hudson Whaling Master, Patriot

Solomon Bunker was a mariner from a Nantucket whaling family; his father David was a sea captain who was lost at sea in Indonesia. Solomon had connections to Nantucket families who later moved to Hudson. His sister, Eunice Bunker, married Alexander Coffin, Proprietor and early mayor of Hudson. Solomon married Abigail Coffin in Nantucket on October 27, 1771. He and Abigail had seven children, two of whom were born in Hudson.
