Acknowledgments
This online exhibit was written by Josephine Bloodgood, HHS Director of Curatorial & Preservation Affairs, adapting and expanding upon the original text written by Ashley Trainor Campone for a physical exhibit presented at the DuBois Fort Visitor Center in 2017 (co-curated by Ashley Trainor Campone and Carrie Allmendinger).
Sincere thanks to HHS staff who provided essential research support and/or reviewed drafts of the exhibit text: Donna Dixon, Beth Patkus, and Zachary Veith. Thanks also to Carol Johnson and Margaret Stanne of the Haviland-Heidgerd Historical Collection, Elting Memorial Library for enabling us to feature documents from their collection. Michelle Biondolillo-Keessen designed the original exhibit panels that inspired the header image, while Jennifer Palmentiero and Zachary Spalding with Southeastern New York Library Resources Council provided essential technical support and assistance to complete the online exhibit.
Special thanks also to Liselle LaFrance, HHS President, and to the HHS Board of Trustees and Staff for their ongoing support. Most of the documents supporting this research are part of the New Paltz Historic Documents Projects, originally funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities and currently supported in part by Robert D. L. Gardiner Foundation, the Hasbrouck Family Association, and supporters of the Haviland-Heidgerd Historical Collection, Elting Memorial Library.
